Kolkata - The Bengal Governor has complained that Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri was insulted during the prize giving ceremony of the Durand Cup football tournament. A video surfaced of Governor La Ganesan pushing Chhetri with his hand while posing for a photo after giving away the trophy. Fans on social media accused Ganesan of insulting Chhetri, who is also the captain of the Indian football team.
A video of Bengaluru star Sivashakti Narayanan being pushed by one of the guests during the award ceremony has also surfaced. Fans are asking on social media who actually won the trophy, with guests pushing the footballers for photo opportunities
Bengaluru FC won the Durand Cup by defeating Mumbai City FC by two goals to one. Shivashakti and Alan Costa scored for Bengaluru in the 131st edition of the Durand Cup final. Apuya scored the consolation goal for Mumbai City.
